βAfter settling in, we drove up into the mountains for a tasting at Stony Hill Vineyard. The drive alone was beautiful, and once we got there, I was floored by the viewβwe could see so much of the valley. The tasting room was unlike anything Iβve ever experienced. Itβs set inside a converted family home with mid-century modern design touches everywhere. I could have moved in.β
βI'm discovering that I actually like white wines (after being a snob about them), specially in very hot Napa afternoons. Their 2006 Chenin Blanc ($18 a bottle) was very pleasant, fruity and light. Definitely something I would drink. I liked their 2005 Chardonnay ($23) even better. I found it both fruity and dry with a bit of a smokey finish.β
