Catching the bouquet at a wedding is part luck, part strategy, and entirely about embracing the moment with joy and laughter. Position yourself well but don't be too aggressive – it's meant to be fun, not competitive. According to tradition, catching it means you'll be the next to marry, making it a sweet superstition that adds excitement to wedding celebrations.

“In the evening, they announced for all of the single women to get ready to catch the bouquet and so myself and my friend went down. We stood a bit off to the side but near the front (anticipating it would get thrown past us). Turns out, I caught it. I screamed and laughed (I’m was the most single person I know but had gone on a first date the night before so found it funny) and my friend cheered. The Maid of Honour gave me a filthy look and all of the bridesmaids, the bride and her friends all flocked to her and hugged her. She stormed off and kept whispering and looking at me until I left. No one spoke to me for the rest of the night, other than the brides brothers and my friend. I went home shortly after that.”
“This was the second wedding I'd ever been to and I was like 9 or 10 years old. Anyways, the bride is about to toss her bouquet and I went out there to catch it. I was probably egged on by people because OMG IT IS SO FARKING CUTE WHEN KIDS TRY TO GET THE BOUQUET? RIGHT! I'm standing there and she lobs the fecker back and there are all these pathetic Texas women vying for it [...] I caught it. However, from my mom's angle it looked like I wrestled it from the hands of some poor chick. And this girl was crying yo. I guess her BF/date/SO had caught the garter. My mom was so embarrassed and told me to give it to that poor poor girl. I didn't. I kept it.”
