food-and-drinktravel
These pillowy squares of fried dough dusted with powdered sugar are New Orleans' signature sweet treat, best enjoyed hot from Café du Monde with chicory coffee. The powdered sugar will get everywhere—your clothes, the table, your face—and that's part of the charm. Skip the tourist traps and head to the original French Market location for the authentic experience.

People who tried this
“I had cafe beignet yesterday also and it was terrible. I’m positive one of them were under cooked. There were no pockets of air and very doughy. I ate another and it was slightly better and took a bite of the third and stopped. I’ll stick with the tried and true cafe du monde going forward. I was at the canal st location.”
