Eat fresh oysters on the half shell by the sea
๐ Repeatable๐ค All ages
food-and-drinkluxury
Experience the ocean's purest flavor by eating fresh oysters within sight and sound of the waves, typically served with mignonette, lemon, or hot sauce. The best spots are working fishing villages or oyster farms where you can watch them being shucked moments after harvest. Time your visit during months with 'R' for peak freshness, and pair with crisp white wine or champagne for the full seaside luxury experience.

โOnce, I got to eat oysters at a farm beside the oyster beds in the Salish sea off the coast of Northern Washington state (orcas Island). You pick your oysters out of a tub, go shuck them yourself and grab a mason jar of Sauvignon Blanc to wash them down. It was a sunny day and the picnic tables were along the mucky water. It was perfection, the freshness was off the charts.โ
