“We alternated our days exploring Praslin island and lounging at the hotel pool or hanging out at the beach, snorkeling and scuba diving with the local dive centre, and also taking island hopping days out by booking boat trips and tours. I found the journey surprisingly rough. I felt horribly seasick and made a mental note to myself to be sure to take a sea sick pill on the return journey.”

“My absolute ‘best’ first was the unexpected sighting of a sea turtle when I was snorkelling off the island of Felicite – though within touching distance of it, I resisted the temptation, as such contact is not allowed. No matter, this was a memory that will last forever. At various snorkelling stops I was fortunate to swim amongst myriad tropical fish of breath-taking colours, including ‘Nemo’ & black-tipped reef sharks & a jet black stingray, quite a shock when unexpected!”

“On La Digue, we walked to the most famous of the Seychelles beaches – Anse Source D’Argent – an idyllic setting of pure white sand coves with huge boulders, crystal-clear waters & picture-postcard views – absolutely stunning & somewhere I was so sad to leave.”
