โBusiness trip, international. On the outbound I was deemed "late" so they bumped me to the next flight. I wasn't late, they were just AH. Thought nothing of it, returned home. On a second voyage for the same purposes, I was on time at the gate and was beckoned ... and upgraded to First or Business Class - no difference between them. Grinning at my work-buddies, I sauntered onto the aircraft, enjoyed cocktails, choice of lobster or steak for the flight, and a large comfortable seat. While airborne, I checked in on them in back, shared my menu, and felt the daggers their eyes were emitting at my back. :) I asked why the upgrade, the airline responded they were aware of me being bumped before, apologized, and did the upgrade, unasked-for.โ
โI once stayed in an studionappartment in a hotel for work. On check out I let them know a couple of issues with cleanliness and non-working facilities in the room and said I'd expectedmore from their brand. Two weeks later I was back in town at the same hotel. Despite there being a huge sporting match filling up hotel rooms across the city, I was upgraded to a 2-bedroom appartment on the 32nd floor, with way too much space for just one person and endless views.โ
