Professional hypnosis can be surprisingly relaxing and entertaining, whether for therapy or stage show participation. You'll remain in control while experiencing altered consciousness and potentially doing amusing things you'd never expect. The curiosity of discovering how suggestible you are and the unique mental state makes this a fascinating psychological experiment.

โ€œAfter these practice exercises, I was quickly hypnotized โ€“ focusing only on Chris' voice and feeling an overwhelming state of relaxation. The rest of the show was a bit of a blur if I am being honest; however, most of what occurred has come back to my conscious self within the last week. Through my friends who have told me what I did on stage and a few flashbacks to that night, I know the synopsis of what occurred but still do not know the full extent. At the time, I saw everything but was incapable of completely comprehending the situation since all of my attention was not on the audience in front of me but instead the voice of the hypnotist โ€“ my expression remaining still and lifeless despite the humor that existed around me. I wanted to smile, laugh and show my true expression, but could not.โ€

โ€œI chose to do hypnosis over a Zoom call rather than in person. I liked the idea of being in my home and feeling safe and alone during the process. With my knowledge and permission, he recorded our session and sent the recording to me afterward. I can go through the session again anytime I need, which is awesome. I sat in my office chair (which is comfortable, but not put-you-to-sleep-comfortable) in my home office with the door closed during our call. It was quiet, but not perfectly so, I could hear a neighbor mowing part of the time which wasnโ€™t an issue at all. I had my eyes closed during the hypnosis and at times he had me do a few small actions like make a fist or lift my arm. Nothing too crazy. I didnโ€™t have to โ€œbawkโ€ like a chicken, but Iโ€™m sure you could request that if you wanted.โ€

โ€œMy hypnosis felt similar to the time I steered an Ouija board with my two best friends when I was 13. It didnโ€™t feel like I was the person moving itโ€”though it was conveniently spelling the word I had projected in my mind. (โ€œRecklessly,โ€ for the record.) Was it a spirit, something bigger than me? All I knew was that I was focusing hard, channeling my energy to see what would come up. I believed in the task at hand and thought it into existence. This physical manifestation is the closest thing I can liken to my experience of being hypnotized. I made a push towards the unknown, going with the vibe to see what would happen.โ€
