βAt first, I was extremely nervous. Just watching people in the track waiting for my time, it seemed much faster than I was expecting for karts. [...] Jumping into the karts, the vibrations of the engine felt was almost exactly like my bass shakers on my rig. It put an instant smile in my face. But I was still very anxious. The TimeAttack started. My friend started in front of me, and in less than 5 seconds after entering the track I got into an immense state of focus. Much stronger than Sim Racing. [...] The anxiety went alway vert quickly. I tested the brakes for the first time in the first corner. Of course I locked it, but quickly corrected the spin [...] I then started to understand how to use the break. I didn't like the feeling of the brake, it felt a lot like a cheap Sim Racing pedal, with horrible feedback.β
βTo be honest, I had no idea what to expect. I had seen some videos of people go-karting at high speed, which was more than enough to scare me for a lifetime. The thought of go-karting without any driving experience was scary. And on top of that, just before my turn, there was a group of four guys who drove karts as if they had no tomorrow to look forward to, and that scared the shit out of me. Watching them turn their karts made my heart skip a beat or two. Then the instructor handed us a form that spared them from any accidents or mishaps. I was shivering as I signed the form, but then I said, βScrew it. I am going to do this. Besides, Iβve already paid for it.β
βThe first time I ever went karting, I crashed into the wall so many times that the guy running the place asked me if I ate breakfast this morning, and I was the slowest in my group, while also being the smallest by probably 40 or 50 pounds. Fast forward 8 months, I did something similar for my bachelor party, and I set a time less than half a second off the track record.β
