โThe plan came together and she drove down from Moreno Valley to see me less than a week later. After about 30 minutes of banter and catching up in my kitchen, we headed over to the park where even at 1pm it was a mob scene at the Mickey & friends structure. The whole time though, it was hard to get it all straight in my mind the reality of it all. The line didnt phase me. Here I was with the girl I pined for in high school and we were about to spend the day in Disneyland together. Then, my companion did the unexpected.....she bought one too. After seeing the look of surprise etched on my face, she simply commented "well, I'm assuming we're gonna wanna come back again. Right?" She SCREEEEEEEAMED her head off on the ToT, but as the photo evidence we all get at the end of the thing showed - she had a blast. We both bought copies of it. We took a seat just a stones thow away from IASW and got very close as we watched the spectacle, her head resting on my chest as she lay back against me looking up at the starbursts and fiery splashes of light. We held hands on the way back to the car and headed home.โ
โFriday evening I went on a date with a 52 year old IT engineer. He suggested we meet at Playland, an amusement park in Rye, NY. I loved the idea of having a different date, other than dinner and drinks. We met in the parking lot. There was no hug or kiss hello, but it was not awkward either. The moment we met we just started talking and didnโt stop. We chose not to go on any rides in the park. I have been taking motion sickness pills and allergy pills due to vertigo and also sinusitis, so I didnโt want to chance it. We walked around, talking about the last time we each had been there. [...] We played water gun games. I won the little pig in the picture below. I also had Dippin Dots ice cream. Total win! I discovered that evenings in September are the best time to go to Playland. The park was almost empty.โ
