โAs the title says I played in my Rookie/Novice league for the first time tonight. It just goes for an hour swap in when someone comes out. I only played three shifts, looked like an elephant balancing on a ball for the first two. But the third was where I got it, didnโt skate fantastic but it was so much better, played right wing. Had a solid forecheck and then dumped the puck outta the zone. I definitely understand and I came home happier than Iโve felt in a while.โ
โAt the end of the night we were broken into 2 groups (rookie/ advanced) and we played a 15 minute scrimmage against people of our own skill level. My rookie game was really fun. We didn't keep score and we chose to play 4v4 so there were no subs. It was exhausting, but everyone was able to get some puck time and "rip" some shots. Overall, I would say I'm hooked. I fell like 10 times without any pads on, but was still determined to keep going. I'm in a fair amount of pain today, but I don't believe it's anything more than a few pain relievers and time won't heal. I got home and signed up for the adult instructional league they offer. Everyone there was extremely nice and friendly. There wasn't any snobbery to go around.โ
