โSecond day of โtryoutsโ that year, got drilled in the neck by a crease crank shot (didnt know how to defend properly yet). Thought of quitting right then and there. Obviously didnt. Played a Varsity vs JV skirmish, sucked. Started my first game then got benched after the 2nd Q and got put in here and there. Had a lot of fun even though i hardly played.โ
โI first got into lacrosse back in middle school when a buddy of mine handed me an old stick and convinced me to come out to a practice. At first, I had no clue what I was doing (my cradling looked more like I was stirring soup ), but something clicked, I knew this was the sport for me.โ
โI haven't played a game with any type of ball since fourth grade, I have no hand eye coordination, and I can't catch a ball without flinching, but I do run track so at least I can run from the ball. So, obviously my first lacrosse experience should be at a random practice in the middle of lacrosse season with the best high school girls lacrosse team in the state [...] The only thing I was hoping was not to die and maybe live out elementary aged me dreams of joining in on one of their practices.โ
