โ€œAfter several years of my father in law asking me to join him in a bowling league, I finally gave in and joined a 13 week league that started tonight. And I was TERRIFIED. To the point where when I arrived at the alley tonight, I was shaking. I'm almost thirty and I was so scared that I wanted to leave. But I am so glad I stayed because I ended up having a really good time. The team we bowled against was so incredibly kind and encouraging and I actually ended up bowling three really good games for my level. (I still consider myself a beginner and I was incredibly stoked when I got a 111 for my last game. My average was 100 -- like 15 to 20 pins higher than usual!) I have my handicap score now, too, which is a huge relief and I'm actually really looking forward to next week now. Mostly because everyone was so kind to me.โ€

โ€œJust wanted to share my first league experience with yaโ€™ll. Bought my first ball (14lb Brunswick Rhino) a little over a week ago, and I feel like Iโ€™ve been getting the hang of the fingertip layout. Was getting a more consistent average of 115-120, with a couple of games in the 130s & 140s (usually when Iโ€™m able to clean up my spares). Saw a flyer at the local center for a morning beginner friendly league, and decided to just go for it. The manager said folks tend to use it as a practice league, and I definitely need a lot of practice lol. Ended up bowling terribly, getting scores of 67, 86, 115 for the three league games. Felt really bad for the two guys who were teamed up with me, but they were super chill about it and would give me pointers. Stuck around to bowl two more games (we get two free games per week with the league fees), and ended up bowling a 129 and 160. I assume it was a mix of self inflicted mental pressure, and never having bowled on fresh oil.โ€
