People who tried this

β€œI wanted to share my experience so far after joining a kickball team. I had read reviews from people on Reddit in the past and was a little unsure if it would be a good fit for me based on that information. I am not trying to discredit those reviews or invalidate other people’s experiences. That all said, the best way to know is try for yourself. I found an in person recruiting event in January (preseason) where teams with open rosters had representatives at the bar for a meet and greet. All teams I chatted with were Saturday teams. There were also Sunday teams there to chat as well. I am looking for community, friends, and I do enjoy team sports. I was not looking for a team that was too serious about kickball because I do not have the sports team resume to be competitive at that level. I just wanted to show up, try to win, do my best, cheer on my team, and go out to celebrate afterwards. I spoke with a few teams and really enjoyed each one for different reasons. The team I did choose seemed to have the vibe I was seeking. I would have been happy on any team I chatted with at the event. After the event, I officially joined my team and was quickly invited to a group chat. They’ve invited me to casual hangouts, mixers, and other fun activities leading up to the first game we had yesterday. All the team members seem to have similar approaches with social involvement and communication. For each Friday evening of the season, there are mixers with a few other teams to mingle and socialize. After each game, there are planned informal meetups.”
