Learn magic tricks and card tricks

“Magic has been a huge part of my life since 1989 when I was 12 years old when my Grandma taught me my very first one which was the classic 21 card trick. I was amazed by it, begged her to teach me, and once she did I was hooked on learning magic ever since. I used it to help cope with being bullied, it helped me escape and took me to another place or sometimes I'd bring a deck of cards to school and do a few tricks and for those few minutes while performing I felt accepted.”

“My first ever trick was a Svengali deck routine I learned at a magic shop when I was a kid. My first “real” trick was 2 Card Monte made famous by David Blaine (not sure what the original name or source is). I watched his special over and over again until I figured out the TL and the top change (always was off camera). I couldn’t do those sleights well at first so I made a gaffed version where one switch happens with a R&S card and the second happens with a glide move from the bottom. So lame now that I think about it, but that’s what pushed me to work hard on sleights in order to unlock more complex card magic.”

“Well I thought I was confident enough to show of a trick in front of people, but fucked up majorly. I show them a card that I manipulate to the top and then top shot it. When I'm practicing it, it goes perfectly fine, but when I performed it in front of people I manipulated the card extremely obviously and then didn't catch the top shot...”
