National Cherry Blossom Festival Washington DC

“I’ve done this walk countless times throughout my life, but I never get tired of it. The view over the water is gorgeous, and it’s stunning when the wind blows through the trees, causing a snowfall of flower petals. It was definitely crowded [...] but I personally don’t mind the crowds at all. Now that I am a first year college student, I’m just happy and grateful to spend time with my parents any chance I get, especially when we are engaging in family traditions.”

“During the weekend of April 1-3, 2016 I waited in line at the museums, avoided getting hit by a myriad of tour buses, and walked under the trees while tourists took selfies. It was amusing, tiring, and occasionally frustrating, but I believe I learned some things from it that I can pass along to you.”

“The morning after we arrived in Washington DC we got up and enjoyed a nice breakfast. We stayed out of town in Virginia, and drove into Washington DC after our breakfast. The traffic was heavier than expected, and when we arrived, we found a parking spot that meant we would have to do a bit of walking. As we walked we saw balloons being inflated, and said to one another ‘I wonder why they are inflating balloons? I guess something is happening today’.”
