Return to the Trevi Fountain

“On our first morning in Rome we woke up extra early to get to the Trevi Fountain before sunrise. I picked out a dress just for the occasion. I wanted to look perfect. I thought about what I would wish for and hoped to get a picture of the two of us that would last a lifetime. Our cab driver dropped us off as close as he could get to the fountain and gave us walking directions. When Chris told me it was right around the corner I took off in a sprint. There were less than a dozen people there and most were couples like us. [...] We made our wishes and kissed as the sun came up over Rome.”

“It is tradition to throw a coin over your shoulder and into the water. It is believed that by doing this, it will ensure your return to Rome. Did I?... of course I did! Making my way to the edge of the fountain with great determination, over the shoulder went my coin, and my promise to at some time make my return to Rome.”

“While visiting Trevi Fountain, you are going to have to put up with large crowds of people, especially during the summer when it is high season. The amount of people crowded around taking photos in such a small space can make it a bit difficult to get up close and personal for you own photos. When you do get close enough though, something you are going to notice is that people are throwing coins into the fountain. [...] If you want any of these wishes to come true however you must use your right hand to throw the coin over your left shoulder and into the water. If you are looking for love, a three euro donation to the fountain might be a good idea! I figured a return trip to the beautiful city was what I wanted most, so I only threw one coin!”
