βThe first time I tried to drink a cappuccino standing at the bar βItalian-style,β it took me about 10 minutes. During those 10 minutes, about 10 Italians had come in, ordered their cappuccino, and left! While I eventually got used to it, I still find it impossible to drink a cappuccino in less than 5 minutes!β
βSo we took off to the bar, and I was looking forward to having my first Italian breakfast β after all, my preferred meal of the day. We arrived at a little hole-in-the-wall, looking rather dingy and dusty, and all kinds of sensory impressions reached us from the inside: people almost yelling, laughing; the air heavy with a scent of coffee and sugar, and a warm wave embracing us, finally inviting us to come inside.β
