β€œI looked like an absolute idiot. I’d opted for the full body protection look with knee pads, elbow pads and a whack ass helmet that made me look like barbies favourite bowling ball. But anybody who knows me knows just how accident prone I am and I was absolutely not about to walk around with grazes over my body for the next week. So loser dweeb was the look I went with for the next 3 days and I will say that all dignity went out the window. However with that added layer of protection came a slight amount of confidence in the fact that this was actually going to be okay and I should relax & just enjoy the trip.”

β€œWe passed many small towns on our journey that were were full of little kids who would run out and get a high five from us or wave from their porches. We saw life in small isolated villages, watched women walk up insanely steep roads with babies, puppies or goods strapped to their back, we saw locals exchanging goods at the markets, baby chickens and cows running free, we saw natural waterfalls tucked into the rocky mountains, we met new friends at each pit stop, saw the border of China and consumed banh mi’s on the side of the mountain β€” I’m still processing what an incredible excursion this was, continuing to lean heavily into gratitude that we’re even able to do this trip and be exposed to different pace of life.”

β€œOur first day on the bike the weather was a bit moody, it wasn’t cold but the clouds were low which made the green, lush landscape stand out. Our guides were fantastic and always made us feel safe, often pointing things out to us on the ride as we wizzed by. It’s a lot of driving but breaks are frequent and we always had a chance to grab a bite to eat or have a drink while we enjoyed the views [...] Our second and third days on the bike were incredibly sunny which made the experience even more fun. As far as your eye could see, you saw gorgeous mountain landscape. Something about sun hitting a huge green mountain makes me happy”
