“I spent 23 days in Vietnam and I was there by job so had free weekends and free evenings, similar situation like yours. I was located in Hai Phong. This is my experience: People - they are very nice and friendly but their english is very bad and hard to understand (at least was in Hai Phong). I had troubles to arrange tour excursions. Also downside was prices on some places for tourists, they were higher. I strongly recommend Ninh Binh, that’s still one of my best experiences ever! Also Ha Long Bay is amazing but Ninh Binh left bigger impression on me.”

“Both cities felt very safe, and we were walking around Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City well past midnight. Grab is available 24/7, so getting home was never an issue. Nightlife in both places continues late, as many people go out for food around 22-23, especially in Da Nang. I felt extremely safe everywhere in Vietnam”
