Spend time travelling Croatia

“I was delighted that first evening, for I spent the first three hours in a hilltop village in inland Istria, chatting with my hosts over tea and wine. Their home was over 300 years old, traditional stone walls and a rustic slate roof on the outside, beautifully refurbished from within. That night, I walked along the cobblestoned streets to the top of the town, past old stone homes adorned with colorful flowers. Under the moonlit sky, in the silence of the night, breathing air that smelt like jasmine, I indeed fell in love with Istrian Croatia.”

“I was kind of expecting — hoping really – it to be kind of like the Greek Islands in that it would be kind of loose and casual when it came to the culture, the people and getting around. And that indeed proved to be the case. It is also as beautiful as I imagined. In fact, it’s more beautiful than even Greece because it has more vegetation on the islands. The water is crystal clear, too, and makes you want to leap into it whenever you look at it. Croatia is also rocky, even down to its pebble beaches and the sea. When hiking, you’ll often be walking on rocks instead of the path.”

“This was my first trip there and I had no idea Croatia was such a beautiful country! The water is so clean and clear for swimming, Krka National Park is something straight out of a fairytale, Dubrovnik was so unique. I cried when I had to leave.”
