Brighten your smile using at-home whitening strips, professional treatments, or natural methods like oil pulling. Professional results last longer but cost more, while strips offer decent results for special occasions—just avoid coffee and red wine for a few days after.

People who tried this
“So I just had my teeth whitened for the first time with something the dental person called ‚power bleaching‘. Thing is, it was the worst pain and discomfort I have ever experienced in a dental office, and I once had a tooth pulled, albeit a baby tooth that wouldn‘t come out on its own. My gums were first protected with a gel that hardened with an UV-light. That burned a little, bit was not painful or anything. Then they applied the whitening solution and after about a minute it felt like my teeth and gums were dissolving like baking soda in water. It felt like the most painful sparkling water violently attaching my teeth. [...] After two rounds of bleaching (that each took 12min) I couldn‘t take it anymore. My legs were shaking, I had a headache and tears were running down my face.”
“Many months ago, before I got pregnant with #2, I decided to splurge on the Zoom Whitening procedure offered at my dentist office. My teeth weren't stained or yellow or anything, I just--like most of us these days--wanted to bring them up a few shades lighter. So I plunked down $600 and made the appointment. [...] Let me just say, my dentist is fabulous and the Zoom procedure works well for so many people, but when they tried it on me--I winced in pain. For some reason it made my gums feel like they were on fire. I tried to deal with it--I mean, heck, I'd gone through 20+ hours of back-breaking childbirth without an epidural. I could deal with pain--but when I started to cry, they decided to call it quits.”
“I wore the trays overnight for two nights in a row. I found after two days in a row my teeth were sensitive and felt weird, almost as though they were all a bit loose. However, one night without and my teeth went back to normal. I then did it for one more night, waited a couple of days, and then one more night. Four nights made my teeth a bit whiter than I desired but it seemed to balance out within a week. I didn’t end up with increased sensitivity lasting after the bleaching process.”
