Sample this traditional British pastry featuring a sweet almond filling and distinctive crossed pastry strips, ideally in its birthplace of Bakewell, Derbyshire. The best versions have a perfect balance of sweet jam, almond frangipane, and buttery pastry that crumbles delicately. Pair with a proper cup of English tea for the full experience of this beloved afternoon treat.

People who tried this
โSo my verdict. Well, this is the first time I've tried a Bakewell Pudding, I've just never liked the look of them and I should have stuck to my instincts because neither Mick nor myself liked it. I did like the Bakewell Tart but I'm not very fond of icing so I should have gone with the flaked almond topping, I think that would have gone down a treat.โ
