Try this traditional Chinese medicine practice where heated glass cups create suction on your skin to improve blood flow and reduce muscle tension. The circular marks it leaves are temporary but dramatic - like wearing your wellness journey. Find a licensed acupuncturist or massage therapist trained in cupping for the safest experience.

โWhen the masseuse began, she went straight for the cups. She told me to expect some bruising afterward and described the process as a deep tissue massage in reverse. Either I have a low pain tolerance or my therapist was using extra suction because it was painful. It wasnโt unbearable, so I didnโt have to ask her to stop, but it was definitely uncomfortable. She placed about 15 cups on me. Most of them left bruises, but a couple didnโt. [...] Afterward, I was covered in bruises and felt very sore. That night, my muscles were so tight that I could barely move my head. However, as it loosened up over the next couple days, I felt a lot better. The bruises disappeared within a week, and everything felt more relaxed.โ
โShe used a flame briefly inside each cup and then adhered it to my skin. Wow, was this a weird sensation. It was never painful, but felt very strange. She put cups from my shoulder all the way down to my elbow, letting me know that it is completely normal for some of the cups to lose their suction during the treatment and fall off. She left the room telling me know that she would return in 8-10 minutes. The experience overall was incredibly relaxing. The time flew by. Before I knew it the woman returned and began taking the cups off. She simply pulled them off, again this was not painful, but was very strange feeling.โ
