Octopus has a firm, slightly chewy texture with a mild, sweet flavor that's less "fishy" than many expect. It's incredibly popular in Mediterranean, Asian, and Latin cuisines, often grilled, braised, or served in salads. The key is proper preparation - when cooked correctly, it's tender and delicious.

People who tried this

Hey folks, just tried octopus from a can for the first time, I had got one of those Matiz sampler packs. My initial thought after I opened the can was that I was not expecting it to be so recognizablly tentacly(?), there was a really nice seafood smell coming off it though. I got two flavors upon eating it: olive oil which was totally expected, and a sort of bitterish taste. I suspect that second one was the taste of the octopus itself. I don't think I'm an octopus boy after this but I'd definitely try it again, maybe with some lemon juice to brighten up the flavors. Excited to try more tins!
