βThe only way to really evaluate a flea market or other such place is to just go to it and look around. The part of those YouTube videos that you don't see is all the time spent driving to sales, wandering around, picking through boxes, etc. It is pretty easy to spend half a day doing that and not end up with more than a few little trinkets to resell. The same goes for estate sales, garage/yard/carboot sales, etc. I spend a good portion of most weekends going to estate sales, for example. 8-12 hours spread out over two days, usually. Some weekends I end up with a small bag of items. On others I fill up the back seat of the truck. I tend to look at it more in terms of how much I average each month, rather than on any given trip.β
βEven so, I regularly find things to flip at the flea market from the liquidators and the long term dealers. I've even bought things from people that list on ebay to sell on ebay. One guy told me he lists things on ebay for a month and if they don't sell, they go to the flea market. I bought a couple of dvds from him for $1 each and sold them a couple of months later for $30.β
βQuickly opening the app and looking, I noticed it was indeed the beer mugs that sold, that I had listed just the night before! I didnβt realize until later on that I might not have ever been able to sell those beer mugs if I hadnβt listed them the night before. Thatβs when I realized that thrifting is all about timing. [...] Heck, I just started ONE WEEK AGO and already had my first sale, flipping $2 worth of mugs for $30 on eBay.β
