β€œOnce we got through to the main roads of the park I was blown away. It was my first time visiting the park and I was overwhelmed by the size. It was a beautiful, warm afternoon and we took a dip in Tenaya Lake. My eyes lit up as soon as the lake revealed itself from the granite rocks. We parked our bikes close to the beach, changed into our bathing suits along the busy road and quickly immersed ourselves in the refreshing lake. We could have spent the entire day there, but we knew we still had a long road ahead of us so we dried off, changed, and got back on two wheels.”

β€œFirst day was amazing, so few people in the remote area. Even tho the valley was probably flooded with a million people for the labor day weekend. We hiked around 5 miles, found a space to make camp. [...] By the time we rookies were done, it was dark, we heated and ate food in dark, that was Mistake 4, as it wasn’t so enjoyable. [...] Because it was soooooo windy all night, the top cover kept slapping on the sides and waking me up. And it was too cold and dark in the night for me to go out and tie it down. :D [...] Even with all the mistakes, I conclude our first backpacking was a success. We both enjoyed it a lot. The feeling of accomplishment, the wilderness, the almost empty trails and we saw 2 fat big bears.”

β€œThe first time I visited Yosemite National Park, I was blown away by the natural beauty. The views, the waterfalls, the alpine lakes, the giant sequoias, and the dramatic rock formations were all more stunning in person than I’d imagined. I’d seen pictures, of course, but they don’t prepare you for seeing the Valley for the first time.”
