Combine gentle exercise with the joy of spending time with a furry companion, whether it's your own dog or you're helping out a neighbor or local shelter. Dogs make excellent walking motivators since they maintain steady enthusiasm regardless of weather or your energy level. The social aspect often leads to conversations with other dog owners and discoveries of new neighborhood routes.

βWe go on a walk for MY mental health pretty much every day (30-90minutes usually) and he goes out to potty whenever he needs (heβs a weird pee camel so another 1-3 times a day). But when it comes to fulfillment and exercise being outside is great but walking is only ok. We train a lot of his outdoor time (probably 30-60 minutes), play with the flirt pole, he will run errands with me or even just watch the world go by somewhere kind of busy.β
