Write and record an original song

“I'm not a songwriter but I wrote and recorded my first song. I've been performing professionally for almost 50 years but focusing on interpreting historical American music - swing, jazz, blues, NOLA, etc. I spent six months writing my song, played all guitars, lead vocals, brought in drummer, bassist, mandolin, lap steel, back up singer - recorded on 20's Gibson mandolin, original 55 Tele. 32 Martin (not mine, studio provided) and an r9 Murphy Lab LP through a Dumble. it was hard.”

“My first single. I wanted to do everything. Guitar, bass, drums, vocals, piano and produce some electronic elements. Took me 2 days to write and record everything but spent 3 weeks trying to mix and master it and now I look back and think the mix and master sounds terrible but I spent countless hours trying to get it right. Now I could mix and master something cleaner in half an hour.”
