“I went to Sunday mass at Notre-Dame de Paris this past August. I picked the "Gregorian Mass" (i.e. modern mass in Latin) because I understand Latin better than French. The tourists around were a bit disconcerting. Every time the priest did anything (e.g. swing the incense burner, lift the chalice) dozens of people were taking photos. It really did feel like I was in a bit of a zoo.”
