Achieving full splits requires patience and consistent stretching to gradually lengthen tight hip flexors and hamstrings. The key is warming up thoroughly and never forcing the stretch - let gravity and time do the work while you breathe deeply and relax into the position. Most people can achieve splits with 15-20 minutes of daily stretching over several months, regardless of their starting flexibility.

βFor the next 10 minutes, I bent, folded, pulled, and lunged my body into positions my body was definitely not used to. I held each position for one minute, as instructed β which felt, truly, like the longest minute of my life. By the end of those 10 minutes, my hips felt a little looser, but those minutes were not easy.β
βFor me personally, when I started working on my flexibilty I could hardly touch my toes. It took me two years to be able to to my first perfect split on the floor. And all I did was stretch and pole. There was no pain involved except for that slight pull you feel when your getting a good deep stretch. Stretching and flexibilty training should NEVER be that painful. My very first split I could feel the stretch of being in a split but I was comfortable in it as well.β
βSince I just got the first split in my life yesterday I think I should share:) It's not perfect but it is still the first time my butt actually touched the floor:) And I thought I would never be able to do it but never say neverβ¦β
