Savor Belgium's national dish of fresh mussels steamed in white wine, garlic, and herbs, served with golden Belgian fries and mayonnaise. The mussels are typically harvested from the North Sea and prepared in massive black pots that arrive at your table still steaming. Use the first empty shell as a tool to extract the remaining mussels, and don't forget to soak up the aromatic broth with your frites.

β€œBetween us, we ordered one classic Moules MariniΓ¨res and one version with cream and garlic. Both were delicious, though the latter probably topped the table for dunkability with crusty baguette! The mussels were small and sweet, perfect as far as I’m concerned. Of course, the meal would not be complete unless it were Moules-frites, and the accompanying fries were hot, crisp and delicious. All washed down with a couple of Belgian beers, this was, in my opinion, the epitome of β€˜fine’ dining Brussels style.”
