βIβve attended class once a week consistently for about 3 months now. I canβt believe how much fun it is! We stretch for about 20 minutes, do some floor skills, tumble track, then either free choice or the coach will set up some drills. The best part is that all the other classes end by the time weβre done stretching so thereβs no kids in the gym for the majority of the time. Everyone in the class is so supportive and itβs all around good vibes. The coach is also amazing and stresses that βweβre all adults. If you donβt want to do a backwards roll today, then donβt do a backwards roll today.β He empowers us to make choices and work skills we want to learn and improve.β
βthings like back flips are very unnerving to learn as an adult. Not something I've ever done before... so it took lots of time doing them into the foam pit and onto big squishy mats to overcome the fear of doing them on flat ground!β
βI took up gymnastics at age 20, with no prior experience in the sport whatsoever. [...] It is a wonderful sport and when trained in a safe environment with good coaching, you can achieve many things you think impossible for yourself now. I could not do a handstand when I started, now I can hold one for 1 min and am working towards goals such as a OAHS and a straddle planche.β
