Sail down the Nile River

“Our days were incredibly relaxed and peaceful. Hours and hours of sailing past the banks of the Nile, views of palm trees and birds, seeing camels and donkeys drinking, and groups of dozens of kids swimming on the shore who would wave frantically when we passed. We were able to see temple ruins, towns, and the lush landscape as we sailed along.”

“You see a LOT of the temples on the way down the river, and as I said our guide knew a lot about every stop. Cruising down the Nile is, dreamlike. It's beautiful, warm(hot) and each cabin on our boat had huge floor to ceiling windows that we sat in front of and enjoyed the ride. The schedule on our trip was...hectic. There was very little time for downtime on the boat. I would have enjoyed a bit more time to chill out on the deck chairs between stops. [...] There was a couple of times where we didn't get back to the river boat until 1030 or 11pm. But then had to be up by 6am for the next day's activities”

“Most things I read or people I talked to recommended the Nile cruise and I was skeptical at first (I hate cruises) but I really enjoyed it. There really is something peaceful about floating down the Nile River. The days can get a little long but the temples at Edfu and Kom Ombo were really cool and without doing the cruise you probably won’t get to see.”
