βRiding on a junk boat in Kowloon Harbor with a cocktail in hand is a skill I do not seem to have. There must be familiarity of bracing yourself from the multi-leveled waves crashing against all sides of the boat at once, an understanding that you must hold onto something rope-like, and the capability to not careen overboard from the railless confines of a deck. Weβre like pirates eating canapes and slugging chardonnay as the blazing sun sinks deeply into the thrashing sea.β
βThe whole thing was such a surreal experience - sitting there with a view of the South China Sea, eating authentic Chinese food, enjoying calamari from squid that we literally had just seen brought in from the fishing boats, being in a place that is practically untouched by tourists, and interacting with the locals. It was one of those life moments where you wish you could freeze time and just soak it all in before itβs gone.β
