โWhen Iโm down in Dorset, where I grew up around Broadwindsor, I inevitably race up Golden Cap within a day of arriving. Iโm as happy to be there in the pouring rain, with my hair parted at the front of my forehead and wet trousers, as I am to be there on a really lovely, bright, clear day. [...] that last bit of climbing up the hill through that tiny shelter belt of woodland, you get a real ache in your calf (but you kind of feel youโve done a little bit of work), and then on the top I just find it a very, very peaceful place.โ
โThe anticipation is what drives you on. Could this next rock be the one? Am I about to discover a species unknown to science? [...] The scenery is mind-blowing โ layers and layers of geology spanning as far as the eye can see.โ
