βFor the first time in my life I had 4 options and the freedom/responsibility of choosing who to set to and it was such an experience. For the first 7 plays, I botched nearly every single set. Itβs really hard and distracting with so many players+being unexperienced/rusty+not knowing their tendencies and hitting height. So for the whole first game I think I only had 2-3 decent sets. After that we did hitting lines and played another game. This time I got my composure down and gained a bit of chemistry with my hitters. Kinda tapped into another level that I didnβt know I had in me. Overall, I executed some pretty decent sets. Me and my friend landed the most insane zero tempo set and went crazy. I even pulled off a couple backsets to the opposite. Got a couple shoots to the outside. And nailed one pipe to the middle back. A few setter dumps and even faked a spike on second ball then set it to the outside. Basically, so many things Iβve seen but have never done before. It felt amazing being there in person and making all of that happen.β
βToday, it was a nice day we were walking in a nearby park that had sand courts (we no longer live near a beach). I suggested that we go play for a little bit, which turned into almost two hours of us out there. I am by no means good, but he taught me some basics of setting, digging, and hitting, and then we tried to rally for a while. My legs are sore and I need to work on my vertical but it was a blast and I'm ready to go back really soon!β
