โSo when Dude presented the plate of salmon to his mom and I, I had no choice but to eat it since according to him, this not eating raw salmon is a deal breaker. It wasnโt as bad as I thought it would be. The fish was firm without any fishiness at all. The texture of it in my mouth was not unpleasant but I wouldnโt say that it was wonderful either. I could feel the gag reflex starting but I fought it down and managed to eat another slice before I gave up.โ
โThe front fin of the tai (snapper) was still twitching when it came to the table. Though its flesh was carved out and sliced into perfectly thin slivers, the rest of the fish was still intact. It was trying to swim away! That is how you know you are eating a freshly caught fish. Later on in the meal, the electrical current causing the frontal fin to pulsate moved to the tail, and the tail began to jerk in spasms. [...] I had never eaten sashimi that was served with the rest of the fish. The presentation was phenomenal.โ
โI remember the first time I tasted sashimi. My brother forced me to try out some tuna - so glad he did. He dipped it in a bit of just soy and gave me a piece. Man it was so buttery and mind you , that was the akami part. That's why to this day I have a penchant for tuna when the most popular sashimi in our area is salmon. Salmon is okay but tuna is my personal favorite of all time.โ
