Backflips on trampolines require overcoming mental barriers as much as physical technique – your brain fights against rotating backward. Start with back drops and work up to the full rotation with a spotter present. The moment you complete your first backflip is an incredible rush of accomplishment and confidence.

People who tried this

Well, last night was our high school prom, and our after prom happened to be at a trampoline park. I felt really loosened up and relaxed, so I felt confident and decided to do a backflip off a trampoline and into a foam pit. I did it a few times and realized I always landed on my feet, so I went to the main trampoline area to try it out. The first few times, I failed badly, but then I eventually landed it on my feet. Then I tried some more until I consistently landed the backflips on my feet.

When I was first learning I did this loooong backflip, that covered a lot of distance. I ended up flipping off the trampoline a few times, and it took me some time to get over that. Literally flip straight up, landing exactly where you take off.
