Parkour transforms urban environments into playgrounds, teaching you to move efficiently through obstacles using only your body. Start with basic vaults and precision jumps before attempting complex flows. The discipline builds incredible functional strength and spatial awareness while changing how you see every staircase and wall.

โ€œThe section that made my eyes widen: I had to leap from a block to catch a bar, swing through the air, and then release and land on a raised platform that looked very, very far away. I was scared. And said as much. [...] My nerves didn't go away, but after swinging and not jumping, I finally did let go. I barely made it. I was euphoric. Sure, it feels good to do any kind of workout, but this was different. In this class, I felt myself pushing physical limits โ€” and tapping into a kind of play I hadn't experienced in years.โ€

โ€œWhat's more embarrassing than doing parkour outside for the first time is doing parkour outside for the first time when all your vaults look like awkward stumbles and you can barely climb over a 5 foot wall at walking pace. You're at an advantage in that you can practice moves in a gym until you get the basic technique figured out before you take it outside, rather than me who stands awkwardly staring down a picnic table as I try to figure out how to apply everything that I've read or watched online.โ€

โ€œToday I tried parkour for the first time. Iโ€™ve watched some videos before so I know of a few moves. Decided to learn a cat pass because it seemed not to scary and there was grass so I figured I wouldnโ€™t get too hurt. Got it down in a few attempts, but with no power on it One time I hit both my feet on the bar and landed straight on my back knocking the wind out of me. Over all the experience was fun and I might try it again.โ€
